Manual Task Audit Training is a valuable tool designed to enhance the safety culture and teamwork within your organisation. This 4 hour training program (2 sessions of 2 hours duration) aims to develop participants skills in the area of identification, assessment, control and review of manual handling tasks in a safety audit framework. The training session will:

• Develop participants skills in the performance of manual handling audits, namely:
  • Identification and assessment of at-risk work practices and postures
  • Determining other factors contributing to employees work practices
  • Providing feedback to staff in an effective, positive manner
  • Explaining appropriate control strategies
• Discuss strategies to reduce at-risk behaviours and recommend safe behaviours
• Build on participant manual handling knowledge through performance of problem solving based tasks.

A Registered Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist will facilitate the session for groups of up to 12 participants. The training will be focused on providing the participants with the skills necessary to be able to confidently perform a manual handling audit and provide the rationale for recommendations.

To ensure the training is tailored towards your work environment, a worksite assessment will be required prior to delivery of the session. The information (including photographs) gathered will be used in developing the training session content to ensure the relevance and accuracy of information discussed. Additional onsite discussions with relevant personnel will also occur at this stage to assist with the identification of high risk tasks and injury trends.
